Whose Property?

Truth is like our giant blue planet.  There each of us sits upon it, claiming some territory as our own.  Who can say that they own the whole world?  Which nation?  Which territory? Which landowner?  There is no ownership of Truth; there is only living in it.

the sound of now

When you're living in the moment no song other than the one you're hearing could be a more appropriate soundtrack.

the candle

Given the option of "twice-as-long" vs. "twice-as-bright,"  I think I'd like to opt for the latter.  Time is, by its very name, a fleeting and tenuous commodity anyway.

the gathering

…this “Quintessence” is the Divine spark, the reflection of the Celestial Fire formed through the balancing of the four Elements.  It is, literally, the Fifth Element.
To me, in the grandest sense, the Cosmos is undergoing its own Digestion and Distillation period, which is why we, as individuals, congeal either to the higher nature or the nature of the lower, profane, human animal.  The Universe is undergoing Alchemy to perfect itself, and we are the microcosm of this process.
Each one of us can be likened to a particle in the cycles of the water-precipitating, gathering in clouds, returning to the heavens, condensing, falling again to run through the valleys-both reshaping the earth and being directed by it, only to distill and rise again.
In this way reincarnation is, to me, the spiritual equivalent of the physical process of rain; souls falling back to this earthly existence to gather up the residue of experience and return again to reservoir of the Absolute.  We are raindrops.
